Maintain a fabric roof

Start with loose-dirt removal and plain water.

Surface: fabric

Suitability: supported
  • Plain-water maintenance where the hood maker permits.

Method

  1. Out of sun, gently brush and vacuum loose dirt.
  2. Rinse with plain water at low pressure where the roof maker permits.
  3. Let dry and inspect. Use the deep-clean route only if ordinary maintenance is insufficient.

Before you start

A concentrate for supported ordinary fabric / carpet. The 1:20 option is the dilute end of the maker’s 1:5–1:20 range.
      • Do not extend this ordinary-fabric comparison to Alcantara, suede, unknown coverings or special coatings.
      • Dilution varies with soil; the shown 1:20 option is not a stain-specific recipe or a claim of measured consumption.

      Evidence:

      1. Vacuum loose soil and test the covering for colourfastness and material compatibility.
      2. For this light-cleaning option, mix 1 part Pol Star with 20 parts water. More concentrated use needs a justified maker-supported soil assessment.
      3. Apply with a sponge or cloth, work gently in the fibre direction and avoid saturating foam or backing.
      4. Remove residue with a clean damp cloth or appropriate wet / dry vacuum. Ventilate until fully dry.
